A fresh-baked mini croissant specialty shop is making its way to Tennoji. MIGNON (meaning "adorable" in French) will open at Tennoji Mio on March 6, 2026 (Friday), bringing its popular bite-sized croissants to southern Osaka.
MIGNON has been cherished in Kyushu's Hakata for approximately 30 years as a "fresh-baked mini croissant specialty shop." As Japan's first mini croissant specialty shop since its establishment in 1996, the brand operates 13 locations nationwide, all dedicated to creating beloved shops and products.
Opening Special: Free Plain Croissant Coupon
During the opening period from March 6 (Fri) to March 8 (Sun), customers who make a purchase will receive a coupon for one free plain croissant, valid until the end of March.

About MIGNON
MIGNON's flagship store at JR Hakata, despite occupying just 5 tsubo (approximately 16.5 square meters), continues to attract approximately 3,000 visitors daily even after 30 years since opening. The store sells about 18 million mini croissants annually (averaging about 50,000 per day). Lines have been constant since its opening, making it a continuously popular destination.
In the Tokyo metropolitan area, the first Tokyo location opened in Ikebukuro in December 2020, followed by Omiya, Saitama in April 2022.
In the Kansai region, the first Osaka location opened in Umeda in December 2021.
Each location sells more than 10,000 croissants daily, growing into popular shops with constant queues. Following this success, MIGNON Tennoji Mio Store, the second Kansai location, will open on March 6, 2026 (Friday).
Product Commitment
MIGNON's mini croissants are thoroughly committed to texture. To achieve a texture that machines cannot replicate, they have used a "hand-folding method" since establishment, where the dough is folded by hand. This creates "crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside" – two distinct textures.
Today, more than 170,000 dough pieces for all 13 nationwide stores are manufactured daily using the "hand-folding method".
Additionally, MIGNON is the original shop that developed the 'chocolate croissant' (chocolate kneaded into the dough). Their unique dough with kneaded chocolate is rolled with heat-resistant bar chocolate inserted directly, allowing customers to enjoy the crispy chocolate texture as well.
Product Lineup
The menu features "Plain" alongside MIGNON's signature "Chocolate" product, "Mentaiko" using Kyushu's specialty mentaiko (spicy cod roe) paste, and "Choco Banana," a collaboration with the popular character "Minions."

The croissants are finished with aromatic liqueur-based original syrup (alcohol evaporated), creating a not-too-sweet, satisfying taste that pairs perfectly with the croissants.
Individual items and various value sets are available, offering products that satisfy both new customers and repeat visitors.
As a limited-time seasonal product, the "Minions" collaboration item "Choco Banana" will be available (until the end of March)!
