Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka (6-1-55 Uehonmachi, Tennoji-ku, Osaka) will begin taking reservations on Sunday, November 1, 2026, for the "Sweets Osechi" sold at its Café & Gourmet Shop Café Belle (カフェ＆グルメショップ カフェベル). The New Year sweets box is back again this year.
The Sweets Osechi is an assortment of sweets in which pastry chefs have delicately expressed auspicious New Year motifs, such as pine, plum and the 2027 zodiac sign, "Hinoto-hitsuji" (丁未, the sheep). The colorful lineup includes a roll cake rolled around kuromame (black soybeans), a staple of osechi, and a red-and-white omelette (オムレット) modeled on hanabira-mochi, an auspicious New Year sweet handed down since the Heian period. There is also a macaron shaped like a sea bream (tai), one of the celebratory good-luck foods.
It is recommended as a dessert to follow an osechi meal, and also as a gift to bring when paying New Year's greetings.
