Asahi Soft Drinks is releasing Mitsuya Fruit Soda Plum as a limited-edition drink starting April 28, with sales planned through June. The product will be available nationwide.
Mitsuya Fruit Soda Plum was first introduced in 1974 as the Mitsuya brand's inaugural fruit-juice carbonated beverage. This limited-edition comeback offers a contemporary reimagining of the classic, combining the deep, rich fruitiness of plum with a refreshing sweet-sour character.
To better showcase the natural flavor of the fruit, the drink uses a "Fruit Enhancement Manufacturing Method," which lowers pasteurization temperatures compared to conventional processes.
The packaging draws from the original design, prominently featuring a plum illustration alongside the Mitsuya brand's signature arrowhead motif. A "Revival" icon and the tagline "refreshing and sweet-sour" appear on the label to communicate the product's character at a glance.
The Mitsuya brand carries a history of more than 140 years, operating under the brand purpose "Move your heart." The brand aims to be the most emotionally resonant carbonated beverage and one of the most beloved sustainable brands.
