June 11 is "Umbrella Day" in Japan — a date designated by the Japan Western-Style Umbrella Promotion Council to coincide with the traditional start of the rainy season. At Moomin Valley Park in Hanno, Saitama, the same day also falls on the park's monthly "Hattifatteners Day," and this year the hydrangeas along the Umbrella Sky Road are reported to be at their very peak. The combination makes June 11 a particularly special occasion at the park.
Hattifatteners Umbrella Photo Prop — June 11 Only
On June 11 only, a Moomin Valley Park-exclusive "Hattifatteners umbrella" will be available as a free-to-use photo prop at the Umbrella Sky and Hydrangea Road. Against a backdrop of colorful umbrellas hanging overhead and approximately 1,000 hydrangeas in full bloom below, visitors can take photos with this limited-day prop.
The Umbrella Sky and Hydrangea Road is a seasonal highlight: on rainy days, puddles on the ground reflect the umbrellas above like a mirror, while after the rain, water droplets on the flowers and umbrellas catch the light for a different kind of magic.

Hattifatteners Day — Every Month on the 11th
Every 11th of the month is designated "Hattifatteners Day" at Moomin Valley Park. On these days, visitors receive a Hattifatteners Day art-design clear card (non-commercial item) as a welcome gift — the design changes each month, and cards can be held up in front of scenery for a creative photo effect.

Rainy Day Giveaway Campaign
Through June 30, shoppers at KOKEMUS stores on rainy days will receive a limited-edition original postcard. From June 13, a new design featuring Snufkin and Fillyjonk launches as the second edition.
