New Balance is adding a new model to its running shoe lineup: the Ellipse. Launching on March 12, 2026 (Thursday) at select New Balance official stores, the New Balance official online store, and other limited retailers, the Ellipse is designed around a single concept — helping runners rediscover the sensation of getting completely lost in a run.
Designed to Bring Running Back to Its Roots
In an era where technology has turned running into a sport constantly connected to data, the Ellipse was created to bring back the original enjoyment of being fully immersed in a run. The shoe is suited to everyone from beginners lacing up for the first time, to experienced runners who rely on recovery jogs as part of their routine.
The Ellipse features Fresh Foam X — New Balance's flagship midsole platform trusted by many runners worldwide — which provides shock absorption and a wrapped, close-to-the-foot feel. Additional comfort-focused details include an engineered mesh upper for breathability, stretch laces for a supple fit, and a soft cushioned tongue.
Kevin Fitzpatrick, Vice President of Global Running at New Balance, shared his view on the new model:

New Balance Run Hub Yoyogi Park 1st Anniversary

Customers who purchase the Ellipse in the exclusive Yoyogi Park color will receive a complimentary Shoe Treatment service that applies a protective coating against water, dirt, and UV rays. Try-on shoes for the Ellipse are also available in-store, and a special photo booth will be set up from March 12 through March 22 for anyone who tries the Ellipse on.
