+diana, a grown-up feminine sneaker brand from Diana Co., Ltd., is releasing a new pair of gym training shoes co-developed with athletes from the Japan Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (JBBF). The shoes go on sale on Friday, October 9, 2026 at select Diana stores, +diana stores, and the Diana official web shop.
Three top JBBF athletes took part in the project from the planning stage. Drawing on their wealth of ideas and passionate opinions, the team worked through functionality, comfort, and design in detail.
The shoes pair the stability, grip, and barefoot-like feel expected of training shoes with the feminine, refined design that +diana is known for. They blend naturally with leggings and gym wear, so training time can be enjoyed in style.
Building the body is a way of polishing beauty, and the shoes offer women who train a new option for their footwear.
Product Design
- Jeweled Eyelets: Understated femininity with a luxurious feel.
- Double Shoelaces: A plain lace and a glitter lace. They can be removed as desired, giving the shoes a 2-way setup.
- Shoe Accessories: Detachable rhinestone shoe accessories, placed where they will not get in the way of training.
Product Functionality
- Cushioning: The cushioned tongue follows the shoelaces, improving the hold around the ankle while staying out of the way when the foot flexes.
- Stability: 3D TPU wings are designed to secure the area around the metatarsal bones. Tightening the shoelaces improves the stability of the heel and metatarsals.
- Hold: TPU parts improve the hold around the heel.
- Breathability: "Engineered mesh" is used with breathability in mind.
- Flexibility: Grooves along the MTP joint allow stress-free flexion.
- Arch Stability: Widening and flattening the midfoot prevents the foot from tipping sideways or twisting, allowing stable lower-body training.
- Grip: A spiral pattern centered on the ball of the big toe, the ball of the little toe, and the heel provides a firm grip for bracing and smooth, stable landings.
- Toe Freedom: Lowering the sides of the toe area makes it easier to spread the toes, giving an open, barefoot-like feel.
- Heel Stability: Higher side walls improve the hold around the heel and steady the landing.
Removable Cup Insole
With the cup insole in, the push-up feeling from the ground is reduced. Without it, the shoes give a more direct sense of contact with the ground. It can be changed to suit the wearer's preferred feel during training.
Smart & Quick Storage
The shoes come with a completely original shoe pouch co-developed with JBBF athletes. It is easy to put the shoes in and take them out, and it does not take up much room in a gym bag. It can be rolled up roughly and carried quickly, for a stress-free design.

About the JBBF
The JBBF was established in October 1955 under the name "Japan Bodybuilding Association" with the aim of promoting bodybuilding while improving public health and physical fitness. Since then, it has worked to promote bodybuilding and fitness competitions, contributing to the sound mental and physical development of the public and to the development of society and culture.
In 1992, it was authorized by the Ministry of Education (as it was then known) as an incorporated association overseeing bodybuilding activities in Japan, and in 2013 it was renamed the Japan Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation, a public interest incorporated association. As a sports organization affiliated with the Japan Olympic Committee (JOC), it places anti-doping at the core of its activities and works toward the development of fair and healthy competitive sport.
