Okashitsukayadaiya presents "Hina Uiro," a seasonal limited-edition confection for the Peach Festival (Hinamatsuri) in March.
The beautiful three colors of "Hina Uiro" represent the scene of spring's arrival: "Under the snow, new buds sprout, and peach blossoms bloom," expressing wishes for children's healthy growth.
Green (bottom layer): New buds sprouting in healthy soil (representing health)
White (middle layer): Pure snow (representing longevity and purity)
Red/Pink (top layer): Peach blossoms for warding off evil (representing protection)
Hishimochi (diamond-shaped rice cakes) are traditionally made with mochi, but this shop expresses the traditional shape using uiro (a type of steamed cake made from rice flour).
Made with domestically produced wheat flour, it features an elegant, mild sweetness and a unique chewy, smooth texture. This is a new Hinamatsuri treat that differs from traditional hishimochi, delicious for everyone from children to elderly people.
※Limited-time sales only

(Other limited-edition products for the Peach Festival include "Hina Dorayaki.")
Koka-ryu Shinobi

Product Name: Koka-ryu Shinobi
Sales Period: Autumn and winter seasons
Price: ¥260 (excluding tax)
Okashitsukayadaiya is a traditional Japanese confectionery shop rooted in the historic city of Koka, offering signature sweets themed around ninjas, the symbol of the region.
Long ago, mochi (rice cakes) were said to have been used as emergency rations by ninjas.
The shop created this mochi confection with thoughts of the Koka ninjas, kneading brown sugar and walnuts into the cake.
The habutae mochi made with Okinawan brown sugar has a fine texture, with walnuts providing a nice accent.

(Another ninja-related Japanese confection available is "Koka-ryu Ninjutsu Yashiki.")
