Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and NHK Okinawa Present "Dynamic RYUKYU" Video Exhibition

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium (Motobu Town, Kunigami District, Okinawa Prefecture; Director: Keiichi Sato) is joining forces with NHK Okinawa Broadcasting Station to mark the 60th anniversary of NHK's underwater filming team and the 50th anniversary of the Okinawa Churashima Foundation. Together they are hosting a joint event introducing the dynamic world of Okinawa's seas through a wide range of footage.

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium: Introducing Deep-Sea Biodiversity Surveys

Equipment used in underwater surveys — including an ROV (small unmanned submersible) and high-sensitivity cameras — will be on display, alongside video footage documenting the surveys. Specimens of collected creatures will also be exhibited.

NHK Okinawa: The Sea Viewed Through Five Themes

NHK will present footage of Okinawa's seas that it has continued to film over the years, organized around five themes: "Scenery," "Ecology," "Livelihoods," "Environment," and "War Remains."

A public recording will be held for NHK's popular radio program "Children's Science Phone Consultation," which has aired for more than 40 years.
