About the Tropical Dream Center
The Tropical Dream Center is a botanical garden where architecture reminiscent of ancient ruins blends with a wide variety of tropical and subtropical plants. Under the catchphrase "360° Tropical Experience," it displays more than 2,000 orchids at all times, along with tropical flowering trees, fruit trees and freshwater fish, offering a dreamlike world where visitors can enjoy the charm of the tropics through color, fragrance and space.
The garden also works on the conservation and research of rare plants to pass the value of the nature of Yanbaru, which is registered as a World Natural Heritage site, on to the next generation, and shares the results of this work and the importance of the natural environment.
About Ocean Expo Park
Ocean Expo Park is a national government park that was built on the site of the Okinawa International Ocean Exposition, which was held in 1975 to commemorate Okinawa's return to Japan under the theme "The Ocean: Its Desirable Future." The park opened the following year, carrying on the ideals of the exposition.
As the world's first exposition themed on the ocean, it became an occasion to think about the possibilities of the sea and the future of people and the ocean through marine culture, sea creatures and science and technology.
