Pokémon-Themed Kyoto Sweets Launch at Shichijo Kansyundo

A traditional Kyoto confectionery shop established in 1865 is launching a new collection of Pokémon-themed Kyoto sweets called "Pokémon Kyogashi." The products will be available in stores starting October 25th (Saturday), with online sales beginning October 20th (Monday) to reach customers nationwide.

Pokémon Kyogashi collection

Pokémon is beloved by people of all ages, connecting hearts across countries, regions, and language barriers through various aspects of daily life. Kyoto confectionery (Kyogashi) has evolved over time while preserving tradition, incorporating seasonal changes and contemporary culture such as popular poems and paintings of each era.

Founded in 1865, Shichijo Kansyundo has created these new Kyoto sweets featuring Pokémon to make the world of traditional Kyoto confectionery more accessible and enjoyable for both children and adults.

Since fall 2023, Shichijo Kansyundo has been expressing Kyoto's seasonal events and associated Pokémon through Kyogashi for each of the four seasons. While these seasonal offerings received excellent reviews and were enjoyed by many customers, the limited quantities meant many people were unable to purchase them. This new year-round collection adds new Pokémon characters, allowing more people to experience the deliciousness and enjoyment of Kyoto confectionery.
