The Prince Park Tower Tokyo (4-8-1 Shiba Koen, Minato-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Yasutoshi Kanda) is introducing its first Chinese Afternoon Tea at its Chinese restaurant, Chugoku Ryori Youmeiden. Called "Chinese Afternoon Tea: A Harvest of Hokkaido and Chinese Tea," it will be served from Tuesday, September 1 through Monday, November 30, 2026.
Chugoku Ryori Youmeiden serves cuisine spanning traditional Chinese dishes to creations adapted to Japanese palates, unbound by genre. Chef Nobuhiro Fujii, who took over the kitchen in April 2026, wanted more guests to discover Youmeiden's appeal, so for this menu he traveled to Hokkaido himself to select ingredients from the region's land and sea. Drawing on years of technique and sensibility, he presents an afternoon tea reimagined in Chinese-cuisine style.
The menu is made up of three appetizers, seven savory dishes, a choice of one noodle dish, and five desserts. Its centerpiece is Youmeiden's new signature dish, "Youmeiden Mala Tang," a creation packed with Chef Fujii's attention to detail: eight spices, including five-spice powder, build layers of aroma and depth of flavor. Other special dishes drawing on Hokkaido's bounty include "Tokachi Wagyu Stir-Fried with Kinoko-jan (きのこ醤)," finished with a kinoko-jan made carefully from Hokkaido mushrooms and scallops, and "Hokkaido Sweet Shrimp and White Miso Tsuyu Soba," a rich broth simmered for three hours from Hokkaido sweet shrimp. For dessert, five Chinese-style creations are on offer, including an almond tofu with haskap sauce and spring rolls with Hokkaido apple and cream cheese. Rounding out the experience, 12 distinctive Chinese teas selected by the hotel's tea instructor bring out the flavor of each dish even further — a fragrant premium jasmine tea makes an elegant complement to the afternoon tea.
