The Ryokan Tokyo YUGAWARA (TRT), a hot spring inn in Yugawara, is holding a limited-time lineup of content from August 1 to August 31, 2026, designed to let guests fully enjoy summer in Yugawara.
Two Shaved Ice Flavors Showcasing Yugawara's Fruit Go On Sale
Two shaved ice flavors made generously with citrus and blueberries grown locally go on sale for a limited time.
Shonan Gold and Yugawara Mikan Shaved Ice
This shaved ice makes generous use of citrus grown in Yugawara, a town also known for its mikan (Japanese mandarin oranges). The syrup is made with 100% Shonan Gold citrus juice sourced from Takara no Hatake (たからのはたけ), a farm overlooking Sagami Bay that is particular about its soil-building and continues to bring out the flavor unique to Yugawara. It's a shaved ice with a refreshing tartness that becomes addictive.
Hiroishi Farm Blueberry and Mascarpone Shaved Ice
This shaved ice makes generous use of pesticide-free blueberries from Hiroishi Farm (広石農園), certified organic JAS by Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The rich flavor of mascarpone pairs with a sweet-and-tart berry sauce for a satisfying cup.

A Sparkler Gift for Every Guest
Around TRT, plenty of events let visitors enjoy fireworks, including the Izu Yugawara Onsen Cooling Fireworks Festival and the Yugawara Onsen Offshore Fireworks Festival, as well as the Atami Offshore Fireworks Festival in a nearby area.
To answer requests to enjoy fireworks even on days when no fireworks festival is scheduled, and to make summer memories even during a quiet writing-retreat stay, TRT will place sparklers in an original washi-paper case in every guest room for stays in August. Guests can enjoy them on "HANABI," a cool-evening terrace for sparklers newly set up starting in August.

Free Festival-Gear Rentals for a Night Out at "Yugawara Onsen Night"
About an 8-minute walk from TRT is Manyo Park, where the summer signature event "Yugawara Onsen Night" runs from August 5 (Wednesday) to August 20 (Thursday). The event features a special stage with a different lineup each day and festival stalls, offering a night out of the ordinary.
To help guests enjoy this Yugawara festival, TRT will begin lending items handy to bring along, including a bamboo basket tote that pairs well with a yukata for a summer night to remember.
Rental items: uchiwa fan, insect repellent spray, penlight
