Nestled in the quiet mountains of Okuyugawara, the ryokan Kaijitsuru Tsubaki is launching a limited-time "Premium Lounge" this summer. Running from June 14 to August 31, 2026, the lounge offers guests a curated evening experience in a tranquil setting away from the hustle of everyday life.
As dusk settles over the mountains, the sound of wind chimes and soft lighting set the tone for a calm summer evening. The Premium Lounge departs from the standard lounge experience, featuring an elevated selection of drinks and bites.
Beverages on offer include draft beer, wine, sake, and plum wine, alongside refreshing options made with yuzu, mandarin, and ume (Japanese plum). On the food side, guests can enjoy a selection of carefully chosen ice cream and fresh fruit, as well as dishes featuring sakura shrimp and light accompaniments that pair well with the drinks.
The lounge is designed as a peaceful retreat — whether enjoyed before dinner as an aperitif moment or after a meal to wind down. The combination of cold drinks and the mountain air of Okuyugawara makes for a uniquely refreshing summer experience.
