Kushitei Yodobashi Ikebukuro East Exit Store, on the 8th floor of the Yodobashi HD Ikebukuro Building in Minami-Ikebukuro, reopened on October 1, 2026 under a new brand, "Sakaba Kushitei (酒場くし亭) Yodobashi Ikebukuro East Exit Store."
The menu and concept have been refreshed, and the restaurant is now a casual "kushiage izakaya" where deep-fried skewers are the main attraction.
About Sakaba Kushitei
Sakaba Kushitei was born on September 1 at its Ebisu flagship store, and the Ikebukuro shop is its second location, getting a fresh start under the new name.
In place of the previous course-style "omakase," the restaurant now offers "Omakase Mori," a skewer platter in three sizes of 5, 7, or 12 skewers. The menu also goes beyond kushiage with seasonal touches, including "Kisetsumono" (seasonal) skewers such as hamo (pike conger) shinjo with matsutake mushroom and Pacific saury with Arima sansho pepper, as well as clay pot rice to finish the meal, with seasonal limited options such as salmon belly with salmon roe, mentaiko with shiso, and charcoal-scented chicken with burdock.
Signature Dishes
The three signature items are Japanese Black beef sirloin, rare-fried spicy mentaiko, and komochi konnyaku tosa-age. The red ginger skewer, which is a good value, is another popular choice.
Menu Highlights (Food and Drinks)
Kushiage Omakase Mori: 5 Skewers From ¥1,100
The signature kushiage comes as an "omakase mori" in three sizes of 5, 7, or 12 skewers. The chef chooses the day's recommendations, so it suits small parties and groups alike.
Red Ginger Skewer: ¥99

A popular staple skewer priced at ¥99 each. A good match for your first drink.
Komochi Konnyaku Tosa-age: ¥253

A signature skewer with a quail egg hidden inside the konnyaku. The light aftertaste of tosa vinegar keeps you coming back.
Japanese Black Beef Sirloin: ¥759

Carefully selected Japanese Black beef sirloin on a single skewer. Even as kushiage, it lets the natural flavor of the meat come through.
Rare-Fried Spicy Mentaiko: ¥539

Spicy mentaiko (cod roe) lightly wrapped in batter and left rare inside. The melt-in-the-mouth texture and the balance with the spiciness are popular.
Hamo Shinjo and Matsutake: ¥462

A seasonal autumn skewer that captures the aroma of hamo (pike conger) paste and matsutake mushroom. A delicate dashi flavor spreads with each bite.
Pacific Saury and Arima Sansho: ¥429

Fatty Pacific saury accented with zesty, refreshing Arima sansho pepper. A skewer for enjoying a taste of autumn.
Assorted Sashimi, 5 Kinds: ¥759

Five kinds of seasonal fish bought that day, served together. It is a fresh-fish plate for those who want more than kushiage, and it can be ordered from two servings.
Clay Pot Rice With Salmon Belly and Salmon Roe: ¥2,090

Fatty salmon belly and plump salmon roe cooked in a clay pot. Also recommended as a finish to the meal.
Clay Pot Rice With Charcoal-Scented Chicken and Burdock: ¥1,980

Clay pot rice infused with the savory aroma of charcoal-grilled chicken and burdock. A fitting bowl to close the meal.
Recommended Drinks

Kushiage-only highball: ¥649. A special highball made to go with kushiage. Its crisp, clean finish resets the palate after the oil.
Miyozakura Panda Cup (Gifu): ¥1,089. Sake served in a photogenic panda-patterned cup.
Hioki Highball: ¥869. A highball made with carefully selected brands that pairs well with kushiage.
