A new select shop, "scape general store", is set to open in December inside Akemio Terasu (あけみおてらす) in Nago, Okinawa Prefecture. The project owner of Akemio Terasu is the YAMBARU GATEWAY PARK joint venture (lead company: 株式会社ゆがふホールディングス).
The shop is run by Okinawa Space (沖縄スペース株式会社), a Naha-based group company of 株式会社スペース, which is newly entering the store operation business. Through running the shop, the company plans to build up practical knowledge in product selection, sales floor creation, customer attraction and profit improvement, and put it to use in offering new value.
Okinawa Space Enters the Store Operation Business
Okinawa Space has so far been involved in creating a wide variety of spaces, through interior planning, design, production and construction, and leasing for commercial facilities and other venues. To improve its ability to make proposals to clients and, in turn, expand its business base, the company decided to enter store operation.
By accumulating a full range of store operation know-how, from securing profitability and selecting products to improving earnings and drawing in customers, it aims to become a stronger partner to its clients and raise the value it provides.
scape general store, Connecting Everyday Life and Travel in Okinawa
Akemio Terasu was developed as a Park-PFI project in Nago and serves as a new hub of activity for both everyday local use and tourism demand. At scape general store, the lineup will include original apparel and goods, crafts such as yachimun (Okinawan pottery) and Ryukyu glass, and food products, with items chosen to suit both everyday life and travel.
Product selection and the creation of the store logo were done in collaboration with "Champlu", an information medium that creatively communicates the "now" of Okinawa, bringing in a sensibility unique to the region.

Outlook
After opening, Okinawa Space plans to strengthen its proposal capabilities through store operation. Based on the knowledge gained, it also aims to create value in broader areas, including entering the operation of commercial facilities.
