agnès b.'s New Matsuya Ginza Flagship Serves a Ginza-Exclusive Japanese Black Tea and Cassis Ice Cream by SCREAM

The cafe at agnès b. Matsuya Ginza, the brand's new flagship, now sells "Japanese Black Tea and Cassis" (和紅茶とカシス), a Ginza-store-exclusive flavor developed by SCREAM, a Fukuoka-based company that develops and produces ice cream. The new store opened on Friday, October 9, 2026, in Matsuya Ginza Namiki-dori-kan (松屋銀座 並木通り館) in Ginza, Tokyo.

The new Ginza store offers experiences that let visitors step into the world of agnès b., a brand that has long been involved not only in fashion but also in art, music, film, photography, and food. As one of its "food" offerings, SCREAM layered French and Japanese sensibilities into a single flavor.

Ice Cream That Brings Together France and Japan

The cafe at the new Ginza store is a space that stays close to Japanese culture and the Ginza neighborhood while also offering a taste of French culture and daily life. The ice cream draws on both, so the two can be enjoyed as one flavor.

The star is a milk ice cream made with Japanese black tea (wa-kocha). A small amount of Earl Grey is layered in to add depth to the aroma of the tea leaves. It is paired with a tangy sauce made with cassis, a fruit popular in France.

The aroma of the Japanese black tea and the mellowness of the milk are joined by the bright tartness of cassis. As you eat, you can enjoy how the two ingredients, one from Japan and one from France, come together.

A Ginza-Exclusive Cup With Matching Packaging

Development began with the "France × Japan" crossover presented by the Ginza store and the brand's image, which makes striking use of red.

The packaging takes its motif from the border stripes, one of agnès b.'s iconic items. With the ice cream and the packaging working together, the product carries the feel of the Ginza store even when held in the hand.

During development, SCREAM fine-tuned the flavor of the Japanese black tea, the choice of tea leaves, the tartness of the cassis, and how the ice cream and sauce are combined. The cassis comes as a separate sauce, so you first notice the aroma of the Japanese black tea, then enjoy how it pairs with the cassis's tartness as you keep eating.

A Comment From SCREAM's Representative Director

Mari Kato, Representative Director of SCREAM

This summer, we worked with agnès b. on the original ice cream served at agnès b. CAFÉ locations nationwide, and it was enjoyed by many people. Thanks to that connection, we are grateful to have been given the chance to create a new ice cream together for the important milestone of the Ginza store's relocation and opening.

For this flavor, we used Japanese black tea from Kyushu and made a gentle-tasting ice cream. By making a sauce from cassis, a French staple, we created a slightly surprising change of flavor within the gentleness of the Japanese black tea. I hope people will think of France as they eat and enjoy that change.

By bringing agnès b.'s sense of beauty and philosophy into something as fun as ice cream, I hope even more people can enjoy the brand's world.
