Seven Premium Turns Popular Soda "Life Guard" Into a Gummy With New "Gumikaku Life Guard Flavor"

Seven-Eleven Japan is collaborating with Cheerio Japan, maker of the long-selling carbonated drink "Life Guard," to bring a new gummy to Seven-Eleven stores nationwide: "Seven Premium Gumikaku Life Guard Flavor," on sale from July 7.

The new gummy faithfully recreates the distinctive, refreshing taste of "Life Guard" in the square-shaped, hybrid-texture format of the Gumikaku series. "Life Guard" has taken part in numerous confectionery collaborations over the years, but this marks its first pairing with Seven Premium's Gumikaku line.

Cheerio-Certified Flavoring Brings "That Taste" to a Crunchy-Chewy Two-Layer Gummy

Seven Premium Gumikaku Life Guard Flavor

  • Price: ¥110 (¥118.80 including tax)
  • Release date: July 7 (Tuesday), rolling out in phases
  • Sales area: Nationwide
  • Limited quantity

Made with Cheerio-certified flavoring

To capture the taste accurately, the gummy uses Cheerio's officially licensed "Life Guard" flavoring to recreate the popular drink's flavor. From the first bite, the distinctive taste of the energy-style carbonated drink spreads across the palate.

A crunchy-chewy two-layer texture

Gumikaku gummies are built around two textures in a single piece: a crunchy outer layer and a springy, chewy center. The contrast between the two textures is designed to keep every bite enjoyable all the way through.

A comment from the Seven Premium product team: "We're delighted that this first collaboration between 'Life Guard' — which has produced numerous hit products through confectionery collaborations — and our popular Gumikaku series has come together. This product grew out of our wish to offer a fresh, three-dimensional take on refreshment, different from drinking, using Cheerio's officially licensed flavoring. We hope you'll enjoy the exquisite two-layer structure made possible by Gumikaku's square shape — a crunchy texture at the corners the moment you bite in, giving way to a chewy center — in harmony with the taste of 'Life Guard,' as a treat for a moment's break."
