Sheraton Kagoshima (Kōrai-cho, Kagoshima City) is hosting a regional food collaboration event, the "Tarumizu City x Mediterranean Fair", as a limited-time offering from Wednesday, July 1 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
To kick off the fair, an opening ceremony is scheduled for July 1 (Wednesday), during which Mayor Masaya Owaki of Tarumizu City will speak about the appeal of local ingredients. The water fairy mascot "Tarutaru" will also make an appearance.
This fair is the 14th edition of Sheraton Kagoshima's ongoing regional food collaboration series. It showcases premium ingredients from Tarumizu City — a coastal area adjacent to Sakurajima, Kagoshima's iconic volcanic island — prepared through the lens of Mediterranean cooking. Fragrant olive oil, herbs, and spices are layered with care, drawing out the natural flavors of each ingredient while adding vibrant, sun-drenched color.
4F Buffet Restaurant "Daily Social": Tarumizu City x Mediterranean Fair
The buffet at "Daily Social" presents a wide variety of Tarumizu City x Mediterranean dishes. Highlights include bouillabaisse — a classic of Mediterranean cuisine — "Beccafico Sardines" (sarde a beccafico), where grilled sardines are paired with the gentle sweetness of dried fruits and a bright citrus finish; pork saltimbocca; and Greek salad.
The menu makes extensive use of carefully selected Tarumizu City ingredients, including "Sakurajima Biyu-ton" (a premium pork raised with hot spring water), "Umi no Oukan" (a farmed amberjack fed on shochu lees and tea), as well as vegetables, fruits, and herbs grown in the region's mineral-rich volcanic soil.

The 19th-floor bar VIVARIUM is serving cocktails inspired by the flavors of Tarumizu City and the Mediterranean.

"Mykonos" — ¥2,100
Based on yogurt liqueur, this light and refreshing cocktail evokes the white streets and clear blue skies of Mykonos Island, Greece.
"Costa Rossa" — ¥1,800
Tarumizu's local shochu "Yachiyo Den" is blended with the pleasant bitterness of Campari and the juicy brightness of orange. Soda water and rosemary create a crisp, refined finish.
