A High-Magnification Zoom for Nikon Z

The lens covers a wide range of shooting scenes, from wide-angle to super-telephoto. It also achieves a maximum magnification of 1:2 at a focal length of 70mm, making serious macro shooting possible.

For autofocus, the lens uses a linear motor called HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) for fast AF. Its OS2 image stabilization algorithm delivers 6 stops of correction at the wide end and 4.5 stops at the tele end. These figures are based on CIPA standards, measured with an APS-C mirrorless camera at focal lengths of 16mm and 300mm. The lens brings together, in a well-balanced package, the functions a high-magnification zoom needs for use in many different shooting situations.

To support the new mount, Sigma developed control algorithms dedicated to Z mount interchangeable lenses, optimizing the AF drive and communication speed. In addition to fast AF, the lens supports AF-C (continuous AF) and in-body aberration correction, although correction functions are limited to what the camera body supports. The mount section is rubber-sealed so the lens can be used in a variety of environments.
