Stand Umineko 3tR, a New Craft Beer Standing Bar, Opens in Osaka's Shinsaibashi on June 26

Derailleur Brew Works, a craft beer brewery based in Nishinari, Osaka, will open its directly managed shop "Stand Umineko 3tR (Stand Umineko Mittela)" in Minami, Osaka on Friday, June 26, 2026. This marks the first new Stand Umineko opening in the Osaka area in about eight years.

The bar offers house-brewed craft beers alongside a curated selection from microbreweries across Japan, as well as house-made pork buns and spice-infused snacks to pair with the beers. With 25 taps, the venue is conveniently located within walking distance of Shinsaibashi, Namba, Nagahoribashi, and Nipponbashi stations, aiming to be a casual craft beer stand in the heart of Minami where locals and visitors alike can easily drop in.

First New Stand Umineko in Osaka in About Eight Years

Since opening Stand Umineko and Stand Umineko Hanare in the Osaka area in 2018, the brand has expanded to Kyoto, Fukuoka, and Tokyo, building a loyal following among craft beer fans.

At the new Stand Umineko 3tR, the team draws on years of experience while focusing on developing original food that pairs beautifully with beer — think snacks with Chinese and ethnic-inspired flavors alongside craft beer.

At the back of the space, canned beers are available for takeaway, and a selection of original merchandise is also on offer.

The name "3tR (Mittela)" comes from the bar's location on Mitsutera-suji, a street in the heart of Minami — a nod to the team's desire to spread craft beer and standing bar culture from this spot.

House-Made Pork Buns Made to Go with Beer

The signature menu items at Stand Umineko 3tR are two varieties of house-made pork buns crafted with craft beer in mind. Both the bun skins and fillings are made from scratch, and the dough is kneaded with spent grain left over from the brewing process at Derailleur Brew Works. The result is a bun with a subtle malt-derived sweetness, rich flavor, and a moist texture — a uniquely brewery-born original.

Right: Pork Bun; Left: Huajiao Kakuni Man

The Pork Bun (¥380) features a house-made filling packed with the savory richness of pork and a kick of black pepper. Seasoned specifically to complement beer, one bite and you'll reach for your glass. Served piping hot, it's best enjoyed fresh alongside a craft beer.

The Huajiao Kakuni Man (¥480) is a pork bun stuffed with hearty chunks of soy-braised pork belly, seasoned with Sichuan huajiao (flower pepper). The rich depth of the pork and the refreshing aroma of huajiao make it an outstanding match for craft beer. Also served freshly made and hot.

Spice- and Herb-Accented Snacks Paired with Craft Beer

Beyond the pork buns, the menu features a range of beer-friendly snacks: Aburi Duck Ethnic Sansho (¥780), Steamed Potato with Iburigakko Tartar (¥380), Hakusai Spice Pickle with Yopparai Cucumber (¥400), Gari Tomato (¥420), and Edamame Hummus (¥480). Each dish incorporates spices and herbs with subtle Chinese and ethnic influences. Light and snackable, they're ideal for a quick drink before going out or a second-round stop.

A New Craft Beer to Discover Every Visit

Inside, beers from Derailleur Brew Works and domestic microbreweries are available in three sizes: Small ¥900, Medium ¥1,200, and Large ¥1,700.

Derailleur Brew Works offerings include perennial favorites such as 西成ライオットエール (Nishinari Riot Ale), Citrus Sour Ale, Hazy IPA, Pilsner, and WC IPA, alongside seasonal releases.

The tap list for domestic microbrewery beers is not fixed — kegs rotate out as they run dry, so every visit brings the chance to discover something new.

A New Craft Beer Hub in the Heart of Minami Where People Connect

Stand Umineko 3tR is located close to Shinsaibashi, Namba, Nagahoribashi, and Nipponbashi stations, in an area popular with both Japanese and international visitors. The approximately 11-tsubo (36 m²) standing-style interior accommodates about 20 people. Its glass-front exterior feels open and airy — passersby can spot the beer taps from outside, inviting them to pop in on a whim. The venue suits a range of occasions: a drink before dinner, a second-round stop, or a daytime pour.

Stand Umineko values creating a comfortable space where a diverse mix of guests can enjoy craft beer at the counter, with conversation naturally flowing between strangers. Stand Umineko 3tR carries on that spirit — a place where all kinds of people mix, and a toast becomes the start of something new.

Note: Shinsaibashi Original Location Closing and Relocating

Stand Umineko's original Shinsaibashi location will close on Thursday, July 9, 2026, before relocating to a new site in Osaka's Minami. The upcoming relocated venue is a separate establishment from Stand Umineko 3tR. Together, both locations will continue to provide craft beer experiences in Osaka's Minami area.
