Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk's 5th-floor Chinese restaurant Boukairou (望海楼) is launching a limited-time collaboration with San-X's beloved character brand Sumikko Gurashi. Billed as the first-ever Sumikko Gurashi x Chinese cuisine collaboration in Japan, "Sumikko Gurashi Yumcha Day" (すみっコぐらし 飲茶日和) offers both a lunch course and a dinner course, running from July 1 (Wednesday) through August 30 (Sunday), 2026.
The highlight of the event is a steamer basket decorated with Sumikko Gurashi illustrations, which opens to reveal a selection of dim sum shaped to resemble the characters "Zasou" (ざっそう), "Tapioca" (たぴおか), and "Ebi Furai no Shippo" (えびふらいのしっぽ). Guests who order either course will also receive one limited-edition A4-size clear file per person as a gift. Character panel rentals are also available for photo opportunities alongside the dishes.
Lunch Course
The lunch course features 16 dishes in total, including three appetizers, soup, four hot dishes, five varieties of dim sum, fried rice, dessert, and Chinese tea — each served in individual portions for a satisfying solo dining experience.
Inside the illustrated steamer basket, the five dim sum varieties arrive together. The jade dumplings (翡翠餃子), inspired by "Zasou," are wrapped in a spinach-tinted dough and filled with pork and shrimp. The Cantonese shumai (広東焼売), shaped after "Ebi Furai no Shippo," features a chewy shrimp filling with the tail portion crafted from red-hearted radish (紅芯大根).



Dinner Course
The dinner course is designed for sharing, with large plates served family-style. The menu includes four appetizers, soup, three hot dishes, three varieties of dim sum, fried rice, and dessert.
Hot dish highlights include Boukairou's popular mapo tofu (麻婆豆腐), wagyu beef and mushroom stir-fry in oyster sauce (和牛モモ肉とキノコのオイスターソース炒め), and spicy shrimp miso stir-fry with vegetables (海老と野菜のピリ辛海老みそ醤炒め). The dim sum features the same Sumikko Gurashi-themed varieties.
Desserts bring a playful finishing touch: a Chinese castella (中華カステラ) adorned with "Tonkatsu" (とんかつ), an endearing peach bun (桃饅頭) shaped like "Tapioca," and a black tapioca oolong tea pudding (ブラックタピオカ入りウーロン茶プリン) with the earthy fragrance of oolong.
Additionally, for each adult dining on the dinner course, one child aged 12 or under can receive the dim sum selection and a serving of mixed fried rice (五目炒飯) at no extra charge.
