The Tabisuru Sado Festival Executive Committee (Secretariat: Sado Kisen Co., Ltd.) will hold "Tabisuru Sado Festival Winter," an event where visitors can experience the charms of Sado Island in Niigata, at the Niigata Port Sado Kisen Terminal.
This is the second edition of the festival, following the inaugural event held in June 2025. The theme this time is "Winter in Sado." Visitors can casually enjoy Sado's food, culture, and experiences that are best savored in winter, right at Niigata Port.
A Day to Taste, See, and Experience Winter Sado
Warm dishes made with Sado-produced ingredients, seafood, local sake, and other "winter Sado delicacies" will gather at the port. Steamed oysters, fish surimi soup, sake tasting comparisons, and more allow visitors to enjoy food as if traveling to Sado.
Special Experiences in Normally Restricted Areas
Parts of the terminal that are normally off-limits and the interior of docked ships will be specially opened for one day only. Car ferry interior tours and hands-on passenger crew experiences for children (paid, same-day registration, first-come first-served basis) offer unique port excitement.
Covered Venue for Winter Comfort
The venue is primarily covered and indoors (except for the 1st floor), so visitors can enjoy themselves without worrying about weather or cold. Families and friends alike are welcome to visit this winter outing destination.
