Tokyo Tea Culture Co., Ltd. has launched TEANE, a new Japanese tea brand built around the concept of "a new kind of Japanese tea."
TEANE is a brand designed to help people enjoy Japanese tea more freely, in ways that fit today's lifestyles and personal tastes.
As its first release, the brand is launching three spice teas that combine Sayama tea with spices, available now at the TEANE official online store.
Japanese Tea Can Be Enjoyed More Freely
Even those who love Japanese tea can struggle to find a cup that truly feels like "their" tea.
That feeling is what led to the creation of TEANE.
The brand set out to honor tradition while stepping outside its conventions, offering a cup that fits naturally into modern life and sensibilities.
With that idea in mind, TEANE has adopted "a new kind of Japanese tea" as its guiding concept.
TEANE's First Step: Spice Tea

Japanese tea still holds many charms that aren't widely known.
Wanting to make those charms more familiar and easier to enjoy, TEANE chose three spice teas combining Sayama tea and spices for its first release.
Developed together with Matoba-en, a Sayama tea producer in Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture, the debut lineup consists of three products: Hojicha Cinnamon, Sencha Fennel Seed, and Wakoucha Cardamom. Each blend layers spice aromas onto the character of its tea leaves, giving shape to a new way of enjoying Japanese tea.
001 Hojicha Cinnamon

A cup that layers the sweet, gentle aroma of cinnamon over the roasted fragrance of hojicha.
No sugar is used, yet the tea carries a soft, natural sweetness. As time passes, the aroma slowly opens up, blending hojicha's calm flavor with the lingering trace of cinnamon.
It's perfect for a moment of relaxation, or paired with sweets.
002 Sencha Fennel Seed

A cup where the gentle, sweet aroma of fennel seed brings out the crisp, refreshing flavor of sencha.
Bitterness and astringency are kept to a minimum, resulting in a mellow flavor that's easy to drink again and again.
With a light mouthfeel and natural sweetness, it pairs well with meals and is also recommended whenever you want to refresh your mood.
003 Wakoucha Cardamom

A cup that pairs the gentle sweetness of wakoucha (Japanese black tea) with the vibrant aroma of cardamom, often called the "queen of spices."
The aroma shifts subtly with every sip, leaving a fresh, fragrant finish to enjoy.
It's a cup well suited to unhurried moments, or whenever you want to change your mood.
More Than One Cup: How to Enjoy TEANE
Stopping after just the first infusion would be a bit of a waste.
Hojicha Cinnamon, Sencha Fennel Seed, and Wakoucha Cardamom each use more tea leaves than a typical tea bag, so as to draw out the full character of both the leaves and the spices.
That means they can be enjoyed not just for a first infusion, but for a second as well.
Depending on how it's brewed and how many infusions are made, the aroma and flavor gradually change character.
Trying different brewing methods is a good way to discover a personal favorite way of enjoying the tea.
More New Cups to Come

The three products in this debut lineup mark just the first step for TEANE.
The brand plans to keep drawing out the appeal of tea with a free-spirited approach, fitting naturally into everyday life and offering new discoveries that make people think, "I didn't know tea like this existed."
That is the shape of tea that TEANE is working toward.
