THE KIZAKI CAMP&LAKE RESORT to Pre-Open on April 29, 2026: Rebuilt Kizaki Lakeside Campsite in Omachi, Nagano

Kizaki Lake Campsite (木崎湖キャンプ場), located on the shores of Kizaki Lake (木崎湖) in Omachi, Nagano Prefecture, is set to reopen on April 29, 2026 under a new name: THE KIZAKI CAMP&LAKE RESORT. The campsite had been temporarily closed after suffering tree fall damage, and its closure drew an outpouring of regret from outdoor enthusiasts across Japan who held the site close to their hearts.

Surrounded by larch trees that serve as a natural windbreak, the campsite offers sweeping views of Kizaki Lake set against the majestic Northern Alps — a place where visitors can experience the full depth of nature through all five senses.

Both group camping and solo camping are well catered for, making the site a flexible choice for a wide range of visitors. Its location also makes it a convenient base for exploring the region, with easy access to the Nagano and Matsumoto areas, as well as the adjacent Hakuba area.

In addition to camping and BBQ, the resort plans to offer a range of activities under the concept "GO&CAN," including a cycling tour around Kizaki Lake and workshops featuring aroma mist distilled from natural trees.

The Star Attraction: Kizaki Lake

The undisputed highlight of the campsite is the lake itself.

With 17 jetties extending out over the water, visitors can experience the remarkable sensation of being entirely surrounded by the lake in all directions. The water is so clear and inviting that many find themselves seized by the urge to take a running leap off the jetty. Guests can also simply sit back on a jetty to read, chat, or enjoy the view in their own way.
