THE THOUSAND KYOTO, the flagship hotel of the Keihan Group, is updating its popular "Strawberry Parfait Afternoon Tea" with new spring-themed welcome desserts and drinks starting February 24, 2026. The afternoon tea is being offered at the hotel's café and bar "TEA AND BAR."
A Celebration of Seasonal Transition
The theme of this afternoon tea centers around a sparkling welcome dessert parfait adorned with fresh strawberries, beautifully expressing the elegant transition from winter to spring. Beginning February 24, the menu will feature "Parfait Printanier," a cherry blossom-scented welcome dessert decorated with rare white strawberries and delicate candy work, alongside "Spring Breeze," a welcome drink that harmonizes the refreshing acidity of grapefruit with the sweetness of strawberries and a subtle cherry blossom flavor.
The strawberry-filled experience includes seven varieties of sweets and four types of savories, accompanied by the gorgeous "Croissant Sand." Guests can also enjoy approximately 30 types of drinks on a free-flow basis, including flavored teas featuring Japanese black tea made with tea leaves from Wazuka Town in Kyoto, café lattes, and hot chocolate.

A cherry blossom-scented parfait announcing the arrival of spring, beautifully adorned with rare white strawberries and delicate candy work that shimmers in the light.
Inside the glass, a transparent elderflower jelly is hidden, with sweet-and-sour strawberries and white chocolate crumble adding textural accents. On top, fluffy cherry blossom-flavored fresh cream is delicately piped, adding elegance.
