THREE, the holistic beauty brand run by ACRO Inc. (Shinagawa, Tokyo), is adding a scent installation and an original-aroma workshop to the exhibition "Antonio Fontanesi Transcending Landscape — A European Artist at the Opening of Japan" (フォンタネージ――イタリアの光・心の風景), now being held at Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo. The programs let visitors experience Fontanesi's landscape world with all five senses, through paintings and scent that resonate with each other.
Antonio Fontanesi, a major figure in modern Italian landscape painting, depicted light and air with poetic feeling. This project extends that delicate world into the sense of smell, so visitors can enjoy the lingering impression of the works.
Scent Installation Inspired by the Artworks
During the exhibition, which runs from Saturday, October 17, 2026 to Sunday, January 24, 2027, a scent installation by THREE is set up at the end of the exhibition.
What Fontanesi painted on canvas was not a simple copy of a landscape but the rustling of trees, the shadows falling on the ground, and the quiet air flowing through them. THREE, which values the holistic balance of "mind, body, and skin" and has pursued the power of essential oils drawn from plants, resonated with his deep reverence for nature and the beautiful contrast between light and shadow. THREE's aroma perfumer took inspiration from two works in the exhibition, "April" (《四月》) and "Clouds" (《雲》), and composed original scents that express the scenery and atmosphere Fontanesi painted.

- Period: Saturday, October 17, 2026 to Sunday, January 24, 2027
- Location: 1st floor of the museum, steel staircase and stairwell (near the entrance to the small exhibition room)
"THREE Aroma Sachet Craft" Workshop
On two days only, Sunday, November 22 and Monday, November 23 (national holiday), a special workshop called "THREE Aroma Sachet Craft" (THREE アロマサシェ クラフト) takes place.
Guided by THREE's aroma perfumer, participants blend several kinds of natural essential oils themselves. From elements found in Fontanesi's works, such as "light," "shadow," "earth," and "wind," they choose the ones that resonate with how they feel at the moment, and layer scents as if painting a landscape. The finished sachet can be placed in a room or closet to enjoy the gentle scent of plants. Through the time spent choosing scents and giving them form, participants can take home a personal reminder of their encounter with the artworks.

- Date and time: Sunday, November 22 and Monday, November 23 (national holiday), 2026, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last entry 5:30 PM)
- Venue: Espace 1894, Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum
- How to join: No advance registration is required. Visitors who have entered the Fontanesi exhibition show their ticket to the staff.
Note: When it is crowded, numbered tickets may be handed out.
Note: When closing time is near, staff may hand over a finished sachet that they made.

About the Venue
Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo opened in 2010 in Marunouchi, Tokyo, a five-minute walk from JR Tokyo Station. It holds three exhibitions a year on modern art from the late 19th to the early 20th century, and also runs three smaller exhibitions a year, mainly drawn from its own collection, alongside them. The red brick building is a restoration of the "Mitsubishi Ichigokan" that Mitsubishi built in 1894, designed by Josiah Conder.
