Tokyo Station Hotel Hosts Exclusive Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum Building Tour & Lunch Plan

The Tokyo Station Hotel, located within the historic Tokyo Station Marunouchi building, is hosting a special lunch plan on June 23, 2026, combining an exclusive building tour of Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum with a guided hotel tour and lunch. Participation is limited to 15 guests.

Museum Building Tour Before Opening Hours

The morning begins at Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, where guests are welcomed into the quiet, pre-opening building. Museum staff lead the tour, sharing the history and architectural highlights of the striking red-brick structure — details that even frequent visitors may not know. It is a rare opportunity to experience the building up close, accompanied by expert commentary.

Mitsubishi Ichigokan was constructed in 1894 as the first building in Mitsubishi's Marunouchi office district development — a red-brick Western-style office building designed by Josiah Conder, who was also the mentor of Kingo Tatsuno, the architect behind Tokyo Station's Marunouchi building. The current building is a faithful reconstruction of Conder's original design, with some original materials such as staircase balustrade stonework reused in the interior, and with craftsmanship, materials, and construction techniques all reproduced through detailed research.

After the museum tour, guests are escorted to the Tokyo Station Hotel by museum staff.

Hotel Tour and Lunch at Tokyo Station Hotel

Upon arriving at the hotel, guests are first invited to the private Bar Oak — before it opens — to view a short film about the Tokyo Station Hotel's history and character. A hotel staff-led tour then follows, including access to areas normally reserved for overnight guests, accompanied by stories from over a century of the hotel's history.

Lunch is served at one of two restaurants — guests choose between the main dining room Blanc Rouge or Bar & Café Camelia.

Tie-Up Cocktail: Présence Noir

Tie-up cocktail Présence Noir

Présence Noir (プレザンス・ノワール)

Available: June 13 (Sat) – September 23 (Wed/Holiday), 2026
Hours: 11:30 AM–4:00 PM (last order 3:00 PM) | 5:00 PM–11:00 PM (last order 10:30 PM)
Venue: Bar & Café Camelia
Price: ¥2,400
Ingredients: Espresso, amaretto liqueur, Suze, grenadine syrup, cinnamon powder

The cocktail is inspired by a mysterious black cat quietly dwelling beside a café. The fragrant sweetness of amaretto and the gentle bitterness of espresso intertwine for a lingering finish. Suze — a gentian liqueur said to have been a favorite of Picasso — forms the base, its distinctive bitterness crossing with the espresso to create a memorable aftertaste. A touch of amaretto adds depth and harmony to the blend.

About the Exhibition

"Artists Gathering at the 'Café' — From the Impressionists to Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Picasso"
Exhibition period: June 13 (Sat) – September 23 (Wed/Holiday), 2026

In late 19th-century Paris, Manet and the artists who would come to be known as the Impressionists gathered in cafés to debate and exchange ideas. Unlike today's cafés — settings for relaxation — the cafés, cabarets, and dance halls of that era became birthplaces of new art, as artists sought to break free from the official Salon system and reach a broader public.

In 1897, Catalan artist Ramon Casas opened "Els Quatre Gats (Four Cats)" in Barcelona, inspired by the famous Montmartre venue "Le Chat Noir (Black Cat)," and the young Picasso became a regular. Profoundly influenced by the scenes of pleasure and solitude that Toulouse-Lautrec and Casas depicted in café settings, Picasso went on to enter his "Blue Period." The exhibition features approximately 130 works, including masterpieces by Manet, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Picasso, along with Madeleine by Casas — a treasure from Barcelona's collection.

Ramon Casas,
