ART AQUARIUM MUSEUM GINZA Launches "Goldfish Appreciation" Instagram Photo Contest for Summer Art Aquarium 2026

ART AQUARIUM MUSEUM GINZA, located inside Ginza Mitsukoshi, is once again holding its Instagram photo contest to mark Summer Art Aquarium 2026: A Japanese Summer Journey with Goldfish, running from June 26 (Fri) through September 30 (Wed), 2026. This year's theme, Goldfish Appreciation, invites entrants to fall even more in love with goldfish, with photos judged across four categories: Miracle Goldfish Shot, Japanese Summer, Portrait, and Fun Shot.

Visitors are encouraged to find a favorite goldfish, take in its graceful movements up close, and enjoy watching each individual gesture until it starts to feel endearing. Some goldfish drift closer, curious about a hand or shadow; others shyly hide or simply stare back. Capturing that "moment eyes meet," or an expression the fish seems to reveal only to you, makes for a great entry.

This summer, the exhibition spaces themselves double as photo spots. The Goldfish Folding Screen Room, built around traditional Japanese beauty, and the Goldfish Corridor, where hundreds of glass wind chimes sway coolly overhead, bring goldfish and Japanese culture together into striking works of art — each a chance to frame the scene in your own way.

The contest draws a large number of entries every year. From all submissions, 30 winning photos will be selected and awarded prizes.
