Starting April 2, 2026, select Tsukada Nojo locations operated by AP Holdings are offering a spring special shochu: "Thousand Cherry Blossoms Aged Hama Komachi" from Yanagida Sake Brewery in Miyazaki Prefecture, available in limited quantities.
Crafted for the Next Generation — A Bottle for His Daughter
The shochu was created by Tadashi Yanagida, the fifth-generation head brewer at Yanagida Sake Brewery in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture. He crafted it with the wish of making the perfect bottle for his daughter, who will one day carry on the brewery's legacy. The base ingredient is the "Hama Komachi" (浜こまち) sweet potato, a variety prized for its vibrant, aromatic character.
What sets this shochu apart is a unique production method: after harvest, the Hama Komachi potatoes are stored and aged with their soil still intact before brewing begins. The result is a shochu with fresh citrus notes layered with sweet, floral fragrances, offering the depth and lingering finish characteristic of aged sweet potato.

The shochu is offered in several ways to suit different preferences:
- On the rocks, water split, or hot water: ¥605 per glass
- Highball: ¥550 per glass (also available in mega size at ¥880 and giga size at ¥1,100)
- Satsuma Mandarin Orange Sour: ¥583 per glass
- Japanese Black Tea Highball: ¥583 per glass
