A high-precision reproduction of Vincent van Gogh's "Café Terrace at Night" is on sale through Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the "Grand Van Gogh Exhibition: Café Terrace at Night," currently running at Ueno Royal Museum. NTT ArtTechnology (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) is offering the piece as a reproduction officially certified by the Kröller-Müller Museum, which holds the original — a way to bring some of the exhibition's excitement home.
1. Van Gogh's "Café Terrace at Night" High-Precision Reproduction
The reproduction recreates the masterpiece Vincent van Gogh painted in 1888. Using a patented technology from partner company Ars Techne called "three-dimensional texture image processing technology" (DTIP) — which records an original artwork's texture and depth in high precision by capturing it under light from multiple angles, then reproduces the resulting surface unevenness and light effects on a flat image through pseudo-3D processing — the original was digitized into high-precision data that faithfully captures its original colors, brushwork texture, and fine detail. Each piece is then framed individually by craftsmen using traditional techniques and premium European wood molding frames, for a dignified, carefully finished result.
The reproduction has earned official certification from the Kröller-Müller Museum, which holds the original, in recognition of how faithfully it reproduces the original's color and texture. It comes in two sizes: a large type (92.5% of the original's area) close to the original painting's size, and a small type (40.8% of the original's area) sized for easy display at home.
