JR Osaka Station and the metaverse space "Virtual OSAKA Station 4.u" will be the stage for the "Virtual OSAKA Station 4.u x Local Idols Autumn Grand Music Festival," a music event that brings together local idols and VTuber artists from the Kinki region. The event, hosted by Virtual OSAKA Station 4.u, the JR West Group's metaverse space, combines a live performance at the real station on October 4, 2026, with a fan-supported streaming championship on Virtual OSAKA Station 4.u throughout October.
Connecting the Real and Virtual Osaka Station
Since 2022, the JR West Group has been building "Virtual Stations," which recreate and extend the social roles and functions of real stations in virtual space. A station is more than a place to board trains. It is also the gateway to a city and a place for gathering, exchange, and events.
Virtual OSAKA Station 4.u is a social-media-style Virtual Station that makes communication and self-expression easy in virtual space, while drawing on the assets of the real Osaka Station. For this festival, local idols rooted in their communities meet the virtual space, giving artists and fans a new way to connect and cheer each other on. Fans can enjoy live performances at the real Osaka Station, then support the artists through streams from anywhere, at any time, on Virtual OSAKA Station 4.u. The three groups chosen by fan support in the virtual space will return to the real Osaka Station in a large-format advertisement, "Sakurabashi Avenue."
The festival is also linked to "Autumn Fest 2026," being held at Osaka Station City during the autumn outing season.
Event 1: Special Live by Kinki Region Local Idols and VTuber Artists
During "Autumn Fest 2026," a stage will be set up at the "Toki no Hiroba" (時空の広場) plaza at JR Osaka Station for a special live featuring 12 local idol groups from the Kinki region and 3 VTuber artists.
In addition to each artist's live performance, idol merchandise sales, booths by sponsoring companies, and product sampling at the venue are planned.

Event 2: Local Idol Streaming Championship @REALITY
The 12 local idol groups performing at the live will hold a streaming championship on the metaverse station "Virtual OSAKA Station 4.u." One representative member from each group will stream, and fans can watch the streams and support their favorite idols with tips during the period.
Rankings will be decided based on the total amount tipped during the target period, and the top 3 local idol groups will receive the chance to appear on the large advertisement "Sakurabashi Avenue" at JR Osaka Station. Fans can take part and cheer not only at the live venue but also from virtual space.

Event 3: Top 3 Groups to Appear on "Sakurabashi Avenue" at JR Osaka Station
The three local idol groups that finish in the top 3 of the "Local Idol Streaming Championship @REALITY" will be featured on "Sakurabashi Avenue," a large advertising space at JR Osaka Station. The activities and fan support built up in virtual space will lead to a big stage in the real Osaka Station.
From the real-world live, to streaming in virtual space, to an appearance on the large advertisement at the real Osaka Station, the project can be enjoyed across both the real and virtual worlds.

Osaka Station City is holding "Autumn Fest 2026" from September 12 (Saturday) to October 24 (Saturday), 2026, timed to the autumn outing season with its many holidays.
Osaka Station City marks its 15th anniversary in 2026. From October, the event space at "Toki no Hiroba" (時空の広場) on the 5th floor has been expanded, making it possible to hold events across the entire plaza. During the festival, a variety of events are planned, including the collaboration with Virtual OSAKA Station 4.u; "Umeda Aruku Fest" (梅田あるくフェス), a "po-katsu" event for enjoying walks; and "読の市," a culture and co-creation event with Tsutaya Books (蔦屋書店). Information from each facility and photo spots at the 5th-floor "Toki no Hiroba" are also on offer for enjoying an autumn outing.
