About Whisky Festival

Whisky Festival is a large-scale tasting event bringing together whiskies and spirits from around the world.

At the regularly held Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka venues, around 80 to 120 distilleries, makers, importers, liquor retailers, and bars from Japan and overseas exhibit booths. Each booth offers a variety of whiskies for free or paid tasting, and food and goods that go well with whisky can also be purchased. The event is open to anyone aged 20 or over and is aimed at all whisky and spirits fans.

Whisky Festival began in 2007. Alongside the regularly held "Whisky Festival in Tokyo" and "Whisky Festival in Osaka," it has expanded in scale every year with themed events such as the "Bourbon & American Whisky Festival" and the "Bottlers Whisky Festival," as well as events held in response to regional demand in Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto, Nagano, and Kiyosato. Since 2024, it has also held the "Whisky & Spirits Festival in Yokohama," which widens the theme beyond whisky to distilled spirits from around the world. The festival will also be held in Matsumoto in 2027.

Nearly 80% of the whiskies and spirits at the exhibitor booths can be tasted for free; some expensive and rare whiskies require payment. Food booths and goods sales are paid. Tasting items vary by exhibitor.
