A new outdoor hotel and BBQ venue called "Wood Design Park Kyoto" is set to open in Kyotanabe City, Kyoto Prefecture. The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Kyotanabe City is located approximately 30 minutes by car from central Nara, and about 40 minutes from both Osaka and Kyoto, making it easily accessible from major urban areas while still surrounded by lush natural scenery. The facility has been developed by renovating the former Kyotanabe City Outdoor Activity Center, transforming it into a contemporary outdoor hotel and BBQ venue that makes full use of the surrounding natural environment.
Pre-Opening Schedule
Ahead of the grand opening, an accommodation pre-opening is scheduled from April 25 (Sat) to May 6 (Wed), with reservations opening on March 2 (Mon) at noon.
A day-trip BBQ and camping pre-opening is planned from May 16 (Sat) to May 21 (Thu). Starting April 1 (Wed) at noon, reservations for the day-trip and camping pre-opening as well as reservations for after the grand opening will also become available.

During the accommodation pre-opening, the following room types will be available:
- Cabins – 5 units (breakfast and dinner included)
- Hostel rooms – 8 rooms (4 rooms room-only, 4 rooms with breakfast and dinner)

Guests can enjoy a colorful BBQ course featuring Kyoto vegetables and locally sourced ingredients, cooked at designated BBQ sites.

Breakfast
A one-plate morning set is served with a drink, with a choice of Japanese or Western style.

- Dining location: Café seating on the 2nd floor of the management building
Additional visual content about the facility — including image previews, an image movie, and BBQ and camping site visuals — is planned for release throughout April 2026. An opening event is also scheduled for the grand opening day on May 23.
