Wood Design Park Kyoto-Sai- (ウッドデザインパーク京都-彩-), an outdoor complex in Kyotanabe, Kyoto Prefecture, offers day-trip BBQ plans for visitors looking to enjoy outdoor dining surrounded by nature. The facility provides three types of BBQ sites to suit different group sizes and preferences, with options for both hands-free and bring-your-own food styles.
Three BBQ Sites to Choose From
Wood Design Park Kyoto-Sai- features three distinct outdoor BBQ areas within its nature-rich grounds.

The Main Site is the facility's signature BBQ area, recognizable by its iconic octagonal roof. Accommodating up to 8 guests, it offers a spacious, open-air setting suitable for families and friend groups looking for a standard outdoor grilling experience under cover of the distinctive structure.

The Terrace Site is a covered BBQ area with a comfortable, open feel. With capacity for up to 6 guests, the generous layout allows groups to grill and relax without worrying too much about weather conditions.

The Private Tent Site consists of individual tent-style seating with a warm wooden aesthetic, accommodating up to 6 guests. It offers a more secluded atmosphere for those looking for a glamping-style BBQ experience. Each site is designed to make outdoor dining feel accessible and laid-back, with staff nearby to assist with the grill and equipment.
Hands-Free or Bring Your Own

The day-trip BBQ plans cater to two styles: a hands-free option with all ingredients included, and a bring-your-own option for guests who prefer to bring their own food and drinks. Both styles are fully supported by the facility's equipment and staff.
Staff handle the grill lighting, and preparation and cleanup are managed by the facility — meaning guests can arrive and start enjoying the experience without hauling heavy supplies. BBQ essentials such as plates, chopsticks, tongs, gloves, fans, and condiments are all provided on-site.
A cooking station is also available, with cutting boards offered on loan, so guests who bring their own ingredients can prep at the venue. Restrooms are Western-style and separated by gender, making the facility accessible for those with young children or first-time outdoor visitors. The site is pet-friendly, with leashes required.
An all-you-can-drink option is available as an add-on, giving access to the drinks bar and air-conditioned lounge on the second floor of the main building.
A Full Outdoor Day for Kids and Adults

Beyond the BBQ, the facility includes an outdoor athletics course set amid natural surroundings, giving children a place to run and play before or after the meal.

An on-site café provides a spot for adults to take a break with a drink, rounding out the day at a comfortable pace. The combination of BBQ, outdoor play, and café space makes the facility well-suited for families, groups with children, and visitors with pets.
