Fukkan.com, Inc. (headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Toshiaki Iwamoto) has launched the crowdfunding project "Monster Artist Yuji Kaida Ultraman 'Completely New' Original Replica Artwork Project" starting January 28, 2026.
Project Overview
In 2026, the Ultraman series celebrates its 60th anniversary since the start of broadcast.
To commemorate this historic milestone, monster artist Yuji Kaida, who has been drawing Ultraman and monsters for many years, has created two commemorative original artworks.
This project offers these new works as high-quality B3-size replica artworks, with each limited to 100 pieces as return items.
Additionally, as a cultural heritage project aimed at reevaluating, preserving, and promoting Yuji Kaida's significant achievements for future generations, the initiative will continue to expand broadly.
This project carries the trajectory and spirit of the "monster artist" who has spanned the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras—a symbol of monster culture—into the next generation, looking toward the future of monster art alongside Ultraman's 60-year history.

Yuji Kaida Profile

Born in 1953 in Hyogo Prefecture, Kaida is an illustrator who has specialized in illustrations of monsters and robots from tokusatsu (special effects) works such as Ultraman and Godzilla since the 1980s, widely known as a "monster artist." His painting style—featuring heavy textured depictions, compositions like scenes from movies, and a lifelike quality "as if the monsters actually existed"—has captivated many fans, and he is recognized as a pioneer of tokusatsu art. His representative works include package illustrations for videos, plastic models, and soundtrack albums of the Ultraman series and Toho monster movies, as well as package art for games and hobby products.
He has continued to engage with monster expression across the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras, and currently remains at the forefront of his field, continuing to produce new works. He is one of Japan's leading monster artists.
