YUNAGI Cafe, a bakery café overlooking the Seto Inland Sea in Shunan, Yamaguchi, is introducing a limited kakigori (shaved ice) lineup for summer called the "2026 Summer Limited Kakigori" series, generously topped with fruit and select ingredients. The series rolls out in two stages starting Wednesday, July 1.
The first stage opens with a pre-sale period in limited quantities from July 1 (Wednesday) through July 6 (Monday), before Peach Milk and Matcha Kinako go on regular sale from July 7 (Tuesday), the Tanabata festival. The second stage adds Fruit Milk, Pineapple Milk, and two new summer drinks from July 21 (Tuesday).
The Idea Behind the "2026 Summer Limited Kakigori"
Since its grand opening in November 2025, YUNAGI Cafe has welcomed guests with fresh-baked bread and fragrant coffee alongside sweeping ocean views. For summer, the café set out to create a kakigori that lets guests cool down in style while taking in the calm Seto Inland Sea. Along with its visual appeal, the team paid close attention to the ice's soft, fluffy texture and to pairing it with standout fruit and traditional Japanese ingredients, aiming for the kind of quality expected from a bakery café.
Peach Milk
Juicy, ripe peach is piled generously on top, its natural sweetness brought out by a rich, mellow milk syrup made especially for this dessert.
