A new detached villa, Yutorelo Tsuwano Hyakkei no Ie (ゆとりろ津和野 百景の家), opens on October 15, 2026 on land next to the hot spring inn Yutorelo Tsuwano (ゆとりろ津和野) in Tsuwano-cho, Kanoashi-gun, Shimane Prefecture. Yutorelo Tsuwano stands in Tsuwano, known as the "Little Kyoto of San'in," and describes itself as the only natural hot spring inn in the area. Hyakkei no Ie is a new annex of the inn, offered as a private villa rented as a whole building. It reimagines the way of life found in Tsuwano's machiya townhouses within modern comfort, and sleeps up to six guests. Rather than fixing a travel schedule, guests can spend their time as they like while experiencing Tsuwano's culture through food, tableware, and encounters with local people, as if living in the town.
A Private Space for Up to Six Guests, With an Open-Air Hot Spring Bath
The villa measures approximately 69 m² and has an 8-tatami-mat bedroom, a 6-tatami-mat Japanese-style room, and a dining kitchen of approximately 22.35 m². The bathroom has its own semi-open-air hot spring bath. The Japanese-style room is stocked with traditional toys such as kendama and otedama (beanbags). Couples, families, and groups of adults can relax without worrying about other guests.
Tsuwano Hyakkei Kaiseki, Served in the Room
Dinner is the "Tsuwano Hyakkei Kaiseki" (津和野百景会席), served in a dining area styled like a sunken kotatsu (horigotatsu). The dishes reflect the region's climate and seasons, such as Shimane wagyu grilled on Sekishu roof tiles and a sake brewery hot pot that draws on Tsuwano's sake culture, and guests can enjoy them at leisure in the room.
