Ibusuki Hakusuikan Unveils "Hakusha no Ma" — A New Premium Suite for an Unforgettable Stay

Published: July 15, 2026

Ibusuki's famous sand-steam baths bury guests in warm sand, evoking a sense of liberation, as if reconnecting with the earth and returning to something primal in human nature. Ibusuki Hakusuikan's new special suite, "Hakusha no Ma" (White Sand Room), tries to capture that same feeling.

Materials that echo the color and texture of sand, shaped through careful handwork, form a cave-like space, while the cave's opening frames a calm view of Kinko Bay. Stepping away from everyday life, the experience points toward a new kind of luxury, one that loosens the boundary between nature and people. From the Hakusuikan of the past to the Hakusuikan yet to come, the new suite marks the beginning of a new chapter for the ryokan.
