Ice Cream Festival "Aipaku® Premium TOKYO 2026" Opens in Shinjuku During Golden Week

The traveling ice cream festival that has attracted a cumulative 4.5 million visitors, Aipaku® Premium TOKYO 2026, returns to Shinjuku for Golden Week. The event runs for 13 days — from Friday, April 24 to Wednesday, May 6, 2026 (public holiday substitute) — at the indoor event space Sankaku Hiroba inside the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building.

31 Brands and Over 140 Ice Cream Varieties

This Golden Week edition brings together ice creams crafted from local ingredients across Japan — from Hokkaido raw milk and Yamanashi peaches to regional specialties from Aomori. Craft soft serves made by artisans using ingredients rarely found in supermarkets or convenience stores also feature prominently. The event is positioned as a special Golden Week outing where visitors can discover flavors they wouldn't otherwise encounter.

Featured Products

Towada 10-Color Ice Cream / Sho Hatakeyama

Towada 10-Color Ice Cream / Sho Hatakeyama

Making its first-ever appearance at Aipaku® TOKYO and its Kanto debut, this colorful ice cream is a familiar sight in Aomori Prefecture's Towada City, where it has long been sold from a traditional pushcart (riyakaa). Ten colors of ice cream are stacked like a bouquet, with locals calling it "fireworks ice cream" or "rainbow ice cream." The flavor is mildly sweet and refreshing.

At the venue, the seller will bring an actual pushcart, serving each portion one by one in the same style as back in Aomori. A separate display cart will also be set up as a photo spot.

Black Sesame Soft Serve with Sesame Sauce / K.L.I.M

Black Sesame Soft Serve / K.L.I.M

Making its Aipaku debut, K.L.I.M is a Hokkaido-based soft serve specialty shop. Carefully milled fresh black sesame creates a fragrant, rich, and smooth texture — noticeably different from standard sesame-flavored sweets. The flavor draws on the sesame itself rather than sweetness, making it a popular choice among adult visitors.

Chocolate Gelato Double / CACAO HUNTERS

Chocolate Gelato Double / CACAO HUNTERS

Making its Aipaku® TOKYO debut, CACAO HUNTERS is a chocolate brand that travels to cacao-growing regions worldwide, overseeing everything from fermentation and drying guidance to product development. The representative, cacao hunter Mayumi Ogata, is based in Colombia, working with local farmers to improve cacao quality and support sustainable production.

The signature flavor is "Tumaco" — a bold chocolate with a smooth, aromatic finish from cacao grown in Tumaco, southwestern Colombia. The lineup also features a white chocolate gelato that highlights cacao's inherent aroma, offering a refined, clean taste distinct from typical sweetness-forward white chocolate.

Soft Serve Cheesecake (Aipaku Exclusive!) / Bubó Barcelona

Soft Serve Cheesecake / Bubó Barcelona

Spanish chocolate brand Bubó Barcelona returns with a new creation made exclusively for Aipaku. The "Soft Serve Cheesecake" pairs a mascarpone and Parmesan cheese soft serve with shavings of the rare Spanish Basque cheese Idiazabal on top. Deep, buttery richness, smoky aroma, raspberry tartness, and the crunch of sablé combine into a layered, complex dessert.

The popular "Soft Serve Shabina" also returns, and new this time is the "Shabina Parfait." Visitors can compare the different soft serves and experience the full world of Bubó Barcelona.

Shogun Coffee Jelly Soft Serve (100 servings per day!) / Saza Coffee

Shogun Coffee Jelly Soft Serve / Saza Coffee

Specialty coffee shop Saza Coffee brings a lineup of coffee soft serves. The "Shogun Soft" uses a deep-roasted coffee recreated from historical records of a blend once served to foreign dignitaries by Tokugawa Yoshinobu. The "Geisha Hunter Soft" is made from an ideal blend of Geisha variety beans from three major growing regions (Panama, Colombia, and Ethiopia).

As an Aipaku® exclusive, the "Shogun Coffee Jelly Soft Serve" is also on offer: homemade coffee jelly made from Shogun Coffee, topped with the Shogun Soft and chocolate-covered coffee beans. It's limited to 100 servings per day.

Farm Soft Serve Comparison / Milk no Kurumi

Farm Soft Serve Comparison / Milk no Kurumi

Three craft soft serves from farms in Hokkaido's Tokachi region come together in a special comparison lineup. Asunaro Farming offers a free-range milk soft serve made with house-made fresh cream — lightly sweet, with a texture described as "drinkable." Country Home Fuukei delivers a well-balanced soft serve praised for its umami, richness, and clean finish. Milk Design presents a grass-fed chocolate soft serve, carefully balancing the natural richness of pasture milk with chocolate.

Tokachi Butter Soft Serve

The event also features the newly developed Tokachi Butter Soft Serve: farm-made milk soft with Tokachi butter folded in, then topped with melted butter that hardens into a crispy shell on contact. The result combines a crunchy bite with a rich, slightly salty sweetness.

Peach & Almond Tofu Parfait (Aipaku Exclusive) / Momo Farm Café La Pesca

Momo Farm Café La Pesca

A popular returning vendor at Aipaku. This café is run by "Peach Specialty Yamashita," a peach farm in Yamanashi Prefecture. Gelato made in-house from whole peaches and grapes — including the skins — grown with care is served on-site.

Peach & Almond Tofu Parfait

For this event, the "Peach & Almond Tofu Parfait" is available: smooth almond tofu (annin) gelato topped generously with peach compote. The recommended way to eat it is to mix as you go — the juicy peach and fragrant almond tofu blend together, with the flavor evolving bite by bite.

Aipaku® Flower Sundae: Strawberry Mille-Feuille (Aipaku Exclusive / 100 per day) / Aipaku® TOKYO

Aipaku® Flower Soft Serve

The in-event shop "Aipaku® TOKYO" offers craft soft serve curated by ice cream critic Iceman Fukutome, using carefully selected ingredients and an Italian-made top-tier Carpigiani extraction machine.

The lineup changes by period: from April 24 to 30, the soft serve uses dairy from Betsukai, Hokkaido; from May 1 to 6, it switches to milk from "Kaze Bokujō" (Wind Farm) in Shibecha-cho.

Aipaku® Flower Sundae: Strawberry Mille-Feuille

Event-exclusive items include the limited-to-100-per-day "Aipaku Flower Sundae: Strawberry Mille-Feuille," a generous dessert featuring seasonal strawberries. The popular "Aipaku Flower Sundae: Milk & Caramel" also returns to the lineup.

Prices include tax. Quantities are limited.

Ice Cream Mini Museum Supervised by Iceman Fukutome

Ice Cream Mini Museum

A special exhibition space exploring the history and culture of ice cream in Japan is set up at the venue, supervised by ice cream critic Iceman Fukutome. Displays include rare package collections from classic and hard-to-find ice creams.

The exhibition covers the evolution of Japanese ice cream culture, packaging design aesthetics across different eras, the history of innovative product development, and one-of-a-kind novelty items. Those interested in design and food culture will also find plenty to enjoy.

Admission:

  • Aipaku® ticket holders: ¥350
  • Ice Cream Mini Museum only: ¥500

ICECREAM HOLIC Held Simultaneously

"ICECREAM HOLIC," a festival of handmade goods themed around ice cream, runs at the same time. Works by creators inspired by all things frozen and sweet will be on display, and multiple hands-on workshops are planned throughout the event period. Details will be announced on the official SNS accounts.

Dynamic Pricing for Admission

This event uses dynamic pricing (time-based variable pricing) for admission. Standard admission is ¥600 on weekdays and ¥900 on weekends/holidays (day-of tickets). Advance tickets offer a discount: ¥500 on weekdays and ¥800 on weekends. A student discount of ¥300 (advance, weekday only, ages 22 and under) is also available.

For those who want to visit multiple times, the all-period MANIA ticket offers unlimited entry throughout the full 13 days, priced at ¥5,000 and comes with a commemorative rubber band set in all 13 colors.

Take-Home Bags Available

For those who want to bring ice cream home, original Aipaku® insulated bags (with dry ice) are available at the venue for ¥600 (tax included).
