Tamagotchi 30th Anniversary "Big Tamagotchi Exhibition" (大たまごっち展) Comes to Fukuoka Mitsukoshi from December 29

Tamagotchi, the digital pet released by Bandai in 1996, became a huge hit centered on high school girls at the time and sparked a social phenomenon in Japan and overseas. Since then, a total of 38 models have been released to keep pace with the times, adding features such as infrared communication (2004), a color LCD (2008), a touch-screen LCD (2021), and Wi-Fi (2023). Tamagotchi is now sold in more than 50 regions, and on July 31, 2025, cumulative shipments in Japan and overseas passed 100 million units.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Tamagotchi's birth, the "30th Anniversary Big Tamagotchi Exhibition" (30周年記念 大たまごっち展) will be held at Fukuoka Mitsukoshi from December 29, 2026 to January 25, 2027. The exhibition looks back on the 30 years, and also dives into the charm of the quirky, lovable creatures known as Tamagotchi through experiences that feel like stepping inside a Tamagotchi.

On December 29 to 31 and on weekends and national holidays during the exhibition, entry is by limited-quantity "date and time designated" tickets. See the ticket information below for details.
