BIRD HOTEL, a six-room garden hotel in Kamakura's Yuigahama area, is introducing a summer-only menu at its restaurant THE TABLE. Three varieties of parfait shaved ice and a plate of slow-cooked carnitas tacos will be available from July 1 (Wednesday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026 — just a three-minute walk from the beach.

Parfait Shaved Ice — Three Varieties

THE TABLE's parfait shaved ice lineup pairs finely shaved flavored ice with complementary mousses, jellies, and fresh fruit. Three distinct flavors are available:

Mango & Coconut
Mango purée ice is shaved and topped with mango flesh, airy meringue, and a smooth coconut mousse for a bright, summery combination.

Coffee & Banana
Bitter coffee ice is shaved and layered with a coffee and rum jelly, fresh cream, and banana. Finished with cacao and cinnamon, it's an adult-oriented shaved ice with depth.

Peach & Jasmine
Peach purée ice meets vanilla mousse and a clean jasmine jelly. Crystallized mint adds an accent to this elegant summer flavor.

Tacos

Carnitas tacos at THE TABLE

The tacos feature carnitas — a traditional Mexican slow-braised pork preparation — prepared in THE TABLE's own style. The pork is simmered until fall-apart tender with five spices (cloves, star anise, cardamom, coriander seed, and bay leaf) along with citrus, producing a rich, aromatic result. The meat is complemented by house-pickled red cabbage for a refreshing finish, and a spicy tomato salsa with marinated green chili. Guacamole and lime are served on the side.

THE TABLE is BIRD HOTEL's all-day restaurant, open from breakfast through dinner. The terrace surrounded by lush greenery welcomes guests with dogs.

Breakfast centers on the concept of "tuning the body," offering carefully crafted plates to start the day — no additives, all made by hand. Lunch features pasta and casual dishes highlighting seasonal produce from Kamakura and across Kanagawa Prefecture. Dinner is a course menu developed exclusively for THE TABLE, drawing on locally sourced ingredients and Japanese techniques such as miso, dashi, and fermentation, combined with a free creative approach. Each plate reflects the natural rhythms of this place between sea and mountains.
