Sapporo Prince Hotel's Chinese Afternoon Tea "Spicy & China Sweets" Now On Sale

Sapporo Prince Hotel (Minami 2-jo Nishi 11-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido) is serving a Chinese afternoon tea called "Spicy & China Sweets" at its 2nd-floor Chinese restaurant Fuyojo (芙蓉城), available through Monday, August 31, 2026.

Built around the theme of spice and Chinese sweets, the limited-time menu balances appetite-stirring Chinese dishes with refreshing summer desserts. During the season when summer heat can dull the appetite, the chef designed the lineup to help guests work up a sweat over spicy flavors and come away feeling recharged in both body and mind.

Housemade chili oil blended with several kinds of spices, together with a soy-based Sichuan sesame sauce simmered for over three hours, delivers a sharp, tingling kick, while desserts scented with cinnamon and star anise bring a refreshing counterpoint. The lineup is designed to be enjoyed with all five senses, from cute panda-shaped buns to fried hedgehog-shaped buns filled with lightly sweetened custard cream and a satisfyingly crisp exterior.

Savory options include a hearty China burger filled with twice-cooked pork belly (hoikoro) and an assortment of dim sum, making the menu satisfying even for guests who prefer savory food over sweets.

Paired with fragrant Chinese tea, the afternoon tea offers a new kind of tea time where the stimulation and comfort of summer come together in harmony. Whether enjoyed with friends, as a treat for yourself, or casually over lunch, it makes for an afternoon tea experience with a bit of a different twist.
