Art & Frame, on the 6th floor of Isetan Shinjuku's Main Building, will host a solo exhibition by artist Chiaki Ishimatsu, "I Made My First Giclée Prints!," from August 5 (Wednesday) to August 18 (Tuesday), 2026. Hours on the final day end at 5:00 PM.
The show marks the artist's first-ever release of giclée (fine art reproduction) prints, with several pieces finished with gold foil in limited editions.

She calls herself an "unbeautiful-woman painter," gently affirming imperfection and weakness, and rendering them with an endearing charm through her distinctive line work.
Artist Profile
Chiaki Ishimatsu
1994 — Born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, a city known for its eel.
1996 — Moved to Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, a city known for its chikuwa (fish cake).
2009 — Enrolled in an arts course where 90% of students go on to art college.
2011 — Decided to aim for law school instead.
2012 — Passed the entrance exam for her first-choice school, the Department of Law at Seikei University's Faculty of Law.
2013 — Aimed for the bar exam but gave up, and resumed making art afterward.
2017 — Took a semi-permanent position as an illustrator, then left it to work freelance, beginning her art career with the goal of illustrating books. Held her first solo exhibition, "First Unbeautiful-Woman Exhibition," in October.
2018 — Selected for the Monthly Art Magazine's Newcomer Award debut and took part in seven other group exhibitions.
2019 — Held her first Tokyo solo exhibition, "Unbeautiful-Woman Exhibition Tokyo," in Ikebukuro. Featured in Art Collectors' "Sold-Out Artists" special. Won two grand prizes at the Peters Gallery competition. In January, completed the woodblock print awarded as the special prize commemorating the Adachi UKIYO-E Award. Took part in 10 more group exhibitions, and decided to focus on solo exhibitions the following year after realizing she had taken on too much.
2020 — Held the solo exhibition "Unbeautiful-Woman Exhibition Nagoya" at Sakae Mitsukoshi in Nagoya. In June, a shochu featuring her original label illustration went on sale, and she illustrated a novel — a long-held goal.
2021 — Completed a picture book and a poetry critique.
2030 — Plans to publish an art book.
