A new projection mapping work based on art by four artists from HERALBONY will begin screening on the wall of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building on Friday, November 20, 2026. Titled Expanding distinctiveness -拡張する異彩-, it joins "TOKYO Night & Light," the year-round projection mapping program that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government presents on the building as a nighttime tourism attraction for Tokyo.
The work pairs colorful, powerful artworks with the visual effects unique to projection mapping, expressing each artist's individuality and new appeal on the walls of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

The Four HERALBONY Artists
Artworks by four HERALBONY artists are used in this work.
marina (Tokyo)

marina enjoys sushi, games, cooking and drawing, and has continued creating since the age of 12. What marina is most passionate about is a unique "something like letters" densely written across notebooks. The typography evokes ancient inscriptions, cosmic codes and future languages, and the flowing, scrawled brushwork invites a different interpretation from each viewer. As many new stories are spun as there are imaginations of people searching for meaning.
伊藤大貴 (あいアイ美術館, Saitama Prefecture)

He grew up looking at Mt. Fuji from his family home in Kawagoe. After his father passed away, he began to see his father's image in the moon and to paint himself as Mt. Fuji. When he paints Mt. Fuji, he faces the mountain for four hours without moving at all, and only begins to create once the sun has set and darkness has settled in. He is also a skilled swimmer who boldly takes on long-distance swimming. Perhaps for this reason, colors burst out like water spray in the natural landscapes he paints.
工藤みどり (るんびにい美術館, Iwate Prefecture)

Her work has a boundlessness that seems to be born from meditation. Rather than aiming for a finished form, she finds something in the accumulation of dots and short lines she places as she pleases, and immerses herself endlessly in that world. At times she speaks to someone nearby with a dreamy, fluffy smile, and at other times she sinks deep into her own inner world alone. Her gaze drifts, following something that appears only in her heart. A mysterious atmosphere surrounds her and her work.
岡部志士 (希望の園, Mie Prefecture)

The artist paints a surface with crayon, scrapes the color away with a needle, and gathers the crayon shavings, playing with them like clay while creating. Recently the working methods have broadened, such as scraping with a needle a surface colored with crayon and poster paint on boards and canvases. In fact, the lumps formed from the gathered shavings (which the artist calls コロイチ) are the true works for the artist, while the resulting paintings are merely leftover scraps that hold no interest.
