Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo Opens October 28, 2026, With Design Inspired by Okubo's Multicultural History

A new stay base is coming to Tokyo's Shinjuku area: Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo opens on October 28, 2026, in the Hyakunincho neighborhood of Shinjuku Ward. Reservations opened on August 4, 2026, through the official website of The Ascott Limited, the Singapore-based hospitality operator that runs the property in Japan and operates in more than 40 countries and over 230 cities worldwide.

Following Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo, Citadines Harbourfront Yokohama, and Citadines Namba Osaka, this marks the fourth Citadines property in Japan. Built around the brand's "For the Love of Cities" concept, which invites guests to enjoy each city in their own way, the new property sits in Shinjuku, one of Tokyo's leading business, sightseeing, and entertainment districts, while also connecting guests to the multicultural, lively character of the neighboring Okubo and Shin-Okubo area.

The hotel is about a 3-minute walk from Okubo Station and about a 7-minute walk from Shin-Okubo Station, with easy access to destinations across Tokyo, making it a fit for leisure and business travelers as well as those staying for extended periods.

A Design Inspired by Hyakunincho's Patchwork History

Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo takes "patchwork" as its interior design concept. The neighborhood where the property stands, Hyakunincho in Shinjuku Ward, has a history spanning more than 400 years, developing over time by welcoming a succession of different cultures and communities. Today it is known as one of Japan's leading Koreatowns, an internationally diverse area lined with restaurants and shops from around the world.

Patchwork, the craft of stitching together fabric of different colors, patterns, and shapes into a single piece, reflects the way Hyakunincho's layered cultures, history, and people have shaped its distinct character. Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo expresses the neighborhood's appeal through that same patchwork design, bringing its different cultures, histories, and everyday lives together in one place.
