Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo opened on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in Hyakunincho, Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo. It is the fourth Citadines property in Japan and is operated by Ascott Japan, part of the Singapore-based hospitality operator The Ascott Limited. The property combines a hotel and a serviced residence in one building, so it can serve stays ranging from a single night to an extended period. The serviced residence is scheduled to open in March 2027.
The hotel is a 3-minute walk from JR Okubo Station, one stop from JR Shinjuku Station, and a 7-minute walk from JR Shin-Okubo Station, making it convenient for both business and leisure trips.
The Hyakunincho Neighborhood
Hyakunincho is where the dynamism of Shinjuku meets the multicultural character of Okubo and Shin-Okubo. Surrounded by food from around the world, local cafes, and a wide range of cultures, guests can enjoy a stay that is distinctly Tokyo. The hotel is close to Shinjuku Station, Tokyo's hub station, and has good access to the city's main business, shopping, and entertainment areas.
The interior design uses a "patchwork" concept that expresses the diverse cultures and history of the area.

Opening Ceremony With Art Painted on Suitcases
An opening ceremony was held on the opening day, unveiling an artwork that expresses Citadines' brand concept, "For the Love of Cities." Singapore-based artist Nikki Yamaguchi upcycled four suitcases that had traveled to many towns, landscapes, and memories, and painted the neighborhoods around the four Citadines properties in Tokyo, Osaka, and Yokohama. The resulting work is titled "For the Love of Cities." At the ceremony, the speakers added the final brushstrokes to celebrate the opening.
The artwork carries the hope that guests will use art as a starting point to head out into the city, find places they are curious about and personal favorites, and discover their own way of enjoying the city.

About the Artist: Nikki Yamaguchi
Born in Tokyo in 1982, Nikki Yamaguchi began working in entertainment at age 3 and served as a reporter on TV programs including Ōsama no Brunch (王様のブランチ), Sekai Ururun Taizaiki (世界ウルルン滞在記), and Sekai Fushigi Hakken! (世界ふしぎ発見!). Since 2011 she has been active as an artist based in Singapore, exhibiting her work in Japan, New Zealand, and Yap Island in Micronesia. In 2022 she won a bronze award in the emerging artist category of Singapore's "UOB Painting of the Year."
Stay Options From Short Trips to Long Stays
As travel purposes and styles diversify, Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo combines two different stay styles, a hotel and a serviced residence, in one property. This offers choices for every length and purpose of stay, from a single night to a long-term visit.
The property has 106 rooms in 10 room types, from studios for two guests to one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and family rooms for three to six guests. Most room types come with a full kitchen and a washer-dryer, suiting solo travelers and business guests as well as families and groups. The building also has a fitness gym open 24 hours, a self-service laundry room, and a lounge.

UNI COFFEE ROASTERY on the First Floor
The cafe UNI COFFEE ROASTERY opens on the first floor on Thursday, October 29. As part of Citadines' "For the Love of Coffee" initiative, it offers menu items exclusive to this location. They include "My Brew," where guests pick their coffee beans and brewing method to find a favorite cup, and a Gingerbread Latte as a special seasonal item. The cafe welcomes local visitors as well as hotel guests, and guests can have breakfast there during their stay.

Citadines × SKECHERS "Run Your City"
Citadines values experiencing the city itself, not only the facility where guests stay. To mark the opening of Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo, a collaboration event with SKECHERS, "Citadines × SKECHERS - Run Your City," is being held as part of Citadines' experience program "Activ∞." Starting from a Citadines property, participants run or walk through the city and discover what makes it special. The event takes place at the four Citadines in Japan from November 2026 to February 2027. The first session starts from Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo on Friday, November 13, is open to the public, and is now taking reservations. More experiences for enjoying the city are planned through "Activ∞."

Stay Plan for the First Festive Season
A special stay plan is available for the first festive season since the hotel opened. It is designed for celebrating the season with family and friends in spacious rooms with full kitchens, in North Shinjuku, where many cultures cross. Campaign details are available on the official website.
