Muskmelon Cultivation & Harvest Workshop at Tomato Ranch in Miho, Shizuoka

A muskmelon cultivation and harvest workshop is set to take place starting March 22, 2026, at Tomato Ranch in the Miho area of Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City — a location surrounded by the natural scenery of a World Cultural Heritage site. The program runs across 4 sessions.

This is the 6th installment of a popular agriculture experience workshop series, with participants trying their hand at growing muskmelons. Raised in Shizuoka's warm and mild climate, muskmelons are prized for their sweet, rich aroma and clean, refreshing finish. Under the guidance of local farmers, attendees take part in activities including seedling planting, pollination, and fruit pruning for a hands-on growing experience.

After each session, there are also bonus activities such as vegetable harvesting for participants to enjoy.

Harvest is expected around late July. At the final session, participants will be able to taste fully ripened melons on-site and take 2 harvested melons home with them.

Reservations open on March 2, 2026 (Monday) at 6:00 PM.
