Fujisan View Express Launches Limited Christmas Cake Plan on December 24 and 25, 10 Servings Per Day

The Fujisan View Express, a sightseeing train on the Fujikyu Railway Line, the railway closest to Mount Fuji, will offer a Christmas-only sweets plan, the "Christmas Cake Plan," on Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25, 2026. The plan is limited to 10 servings per day and is served aboard Fujisan View Express No. 11, which departs Kawaguchiko at 10:49 AM. It is offered by Fujisan Sanroku Railway and Fujikyu Travel, both Fujikyu Group companies.

The Christmas Cake Plan is the first Christmas-themed plan among the train's sweets plans. In a calm, hotel-like carriage filled with the warmth of wood, passengers are served a mini Christmas cake supervised specially for this plan by the chef pâtissier of Highland Resort Hotel & Spa, the official hotel of Fuji-Q Highland. The cake is "Lumière," a chocolate cake that the hotel sells in a limited run of 30 as part of its "Christmas Cake 2026" lineup, prepared here in a mini size that can be enjoyed on the train. It layers couverture chocolate mousse with caramel cream and banana confiture.

On the same days, the "Japanese Sweets Plan," which is sold for a separate service, will also get a Christmas version, with a jo-namagashi (premium fresh Japanese confection) themed on Santa Claus. Both plans come with free-flow drinks, including the "Fujisan View Express Original Coffee," which was renewed in September 2026, as well as tea and a variety of juices, with refills available.

If passengers are lucky enough to see a snow-dusted Mount Fuji from the window, the view will add to the Christmas journey. For a Christmas a little different from the usual, the train offers a special moment with Mount Fuji close at hand.

Christmas Cake Plan Overview

A mini version of "Lumière," which is also sold in a limited run of 30 as part of Highland Resort Hotel & Spa's "Christmas Cake 2026," is prepared exclusively for this train.

The chocolate cake layers a fine couverture chocolate mousse with bittersweet caramel cream and rich banana confiture. The texture of a chocolate dacquoise is added, so the cake changes character with each bite.
