For the entire month of March 2026, The 30th Dining Bar on the 30th floor of Futako-tamagawa Excel Hotel Tokyu is running "Discover! Fukushima" (発見!ふくしま), a food fair dedicated to the flavors of Fukushima Prefecture.
Now in its 12th edition, the fair is organized in collaboration with Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings as an initiative to help people "rediscover" the appeal and quality of Fukushima-grown products. The hotel's head chef has handpicked a selection of local ingredients to create a range of dishes, including the popular "Fukushima Gozen" set menu and a seasonal strawberry dessert.
Student-Caught Tuna Sashimi

One of the signature highlights of this year's Fukushima Gozen is tuna sashimi from fish caught by students at Fukushima Prefectural Onahama Kaisei High School — the only high school in Fukushima Prefecture with a fisheries department. These students boarded the training vessel "Fukushima Maru" and spent approximately two months on a deep-sea voyage across the Pacific Ocean as part of their fishery training.
The tuna is served as sashimi, garnished with sesame, fried garlic, and fried onion, and accompanied by "sakusaku shoyu," a punchy soy sauce flake, and yuzu kosho — whose refreshing citrus heat brings out the natural umami of the freshly caught fish.
Fukushima Wagyu and Aizu Chicken Breast Confit

Another standout dish is the "Fukushima Wagyu Shabu-yakiniku and Aizu Chicken Breast Confit in Paitan Soup." Fukushima wagyu is a black-haired Japanese beef raised and produced within Fukushima Prefecture, known for its vibrant color, fine marbling, and rich, mellow flavor. The beef is prepared sukiyaki-style alongside grilled green onions and bok choy, then served in a paitan soup base noted for its concentrated umami, creamy texture, and gentle thickness. The dish pairs especially well with Fukushima-grown "Fuku, Warai" rice, which contributes a natural sweetness to every bite.
Strawberry Dessert

Available from teatime through dinner, the dessert menu features a "Fukushima Strawberry and Rare Cheesecake Mousse Crepe." The Fukushima-grown strawberries are prized for their well-balanced sweetness and acidity and firm, full-bodied flesh. A strawberry marinade and vanilla ice cream are wrapped in a crepe for a spring-inspired dessert with a cheerful seasonal color palette.
Special Gift with Survey
Diners who order either of the two main menu items and complete a short survey via their mobile device will receive a complimentary gift of "Fuku, Warai" cube rice (limited quantities, while supplies last). Despite its small size, this Fukushima-grown variety delivers strong sweetness and aroma when cooked, with a pleasant chewiness and a gently spreading natural sweetness with every bite.
