Denmark's Popular Burger Shop "Gasoline Grill" Makes Its Japan Debut at Hiroshima Andersen for a Limited Time (June 1–30)

Copenhagen-based burger shop Gasoline Grill is set to make its Japan debut at Hiroshima Andersen's 2F Andersen Kitchen for a limited period from June 1 to June 30, 2026.

About Gasoline Grill

Founded in Copenhagen in 2016 by Klaus Wittrup, Gasoline Grill takes its name from the gas station site where the first location opened. In 2017, it was selected as one of Bloomberg's "Top 27 Burgers in the World," earning fans both in Denmark and among international visitors for its commitment to organic and locally sourced ingredients, all handcrafted with care. Today, the brand operates 10 locations (as of April 27, 2026) across train stations, airports, football stadiums, and cultural venues.

A Partnership Built Over a Decade

The connection between Gasoline Grill and Andersen goes back to the very beginning. Since the burger shop first opened, Andersen's Denmark store has been responsible for developing and baking the buns. This decade-long partnership is what made this Japan debut possible.

Burgers Crafted with Hiroshima Flavors

The popup lineup features three signature Gasoline Grill burgers — the Original Burger, Cheese Burger, and Butter Burger — plus a special Hiroshima Burger developed exclusively for this event. Staying true to Gasoline Grill's local sourcing philosophy, the menu makes extensive use of Hiroshima-grown ingredients, crafted in collaboration with owner Klaus Wittrup himself.

The

What Makes These Burgers Special

1. Buns – Baked fresh by the bakers at Hiroshima Andersen. Made with potato for a distinctively chewy texture that brings all the flavors together.

2. Vegetables – Tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and green onions grown specifically for the burgers by Waki Farm (Higashi-Hiroshima), a farm known for its nutrient-rich soil and flavorful produce. The Hiroshima Burger also features peanut paste from the same farm.

3. Butter & Cheese – Butter and mozzarella cheese from Sagotani Farm (Saeki Ward, Hiroshima City), a dairy committed to gentle, animal-friendly practices. The cows are raised on homegrown pasture grass, yielding a mellow, delicate flavor.

4. Patty – Made with 100% Hiroshima beef, with no fillers. Freshly ground every day — just as Gasoline Grill does at its Danish locations — delivering a juicy, aromatic patty that showcases the full depth of the meat.
